Invest in each other
The annual U-center employee day is entirely dedicated to gaining insight into each other's personalities.
Today, the annual U-center employee day takes place at the special location AINSI, located in the former packing building Noord of cement manufacturer ENCI in Maastricht. The afternoon is entirely dedicated to gaining insight into each other's personalities. This insight provides a good basis for working with self-organizing teams. Starting with self-organizing teams is not an end in itself. It is a means to shape the U-center organization and ensure continuity.
All U-center colleagues who participate today have filled in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). This is a system for classifying the differences in personality of people. The model was developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers, based on the theories of Carl Gustav Jung. Carl Gustav Jung had set up a psychological theory in which the brain works in two different ways: a rational (judging) effect - Thinking of Feeling - and an irrational (contemplative) - Sensing of Intuition. According to Jung these two functions are then expressed in two different ways: an Introvert or an Extravert. Katherine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers went further on this theory. Different coaches and trainers use MBTI to gain insight into the personal talents of employees in a company. U-center uses it to stimulate and further facilitate working with self-organizing teams.
